Join the Prisoners

Join the Prisoners

Ever wondered what it’s like to spend time in jail? Now you can during your visit to Inveraray Jail. Join the prisoners doing time in the cells and hear their stories of what life in jail is really like. But you’d better be on your best behaviour or the Matron or Warder will put you in your place! Experience the sounds and smells, try out the prison beds and hammocks or take your daily exercise in the Airing Yards.

Some of our prisoners are costumed figures in real life situations such as taking a bath, but some are our talented staff who bring to life the experience of what it was like to be locked up at Inveraray Jail. Sit down and talk with them and they’ll describe their prison ordeals and daily routines in graphic detail.
